How to embed a YouTube video in your post
If you'd like to do this (as I have done in this topic, for example), the procedure is as follows. - Go to the YouTube page containing the video you'd like to embed, and press the 'embed' button toward the bottom right of the video window.
- Copy the code (select and ctrl-c).
- In the forum post window, paste the copied embed code.
- From the embed code, select just the YouTube URL, and copy that.
- Put the code in between 'flash' tags in your posting, so that it looks something like this:
Code: [flash=480,385]http://www.youtube.com/v/QydnBIOwoFc&hl=en_GB&fs=1[/flash] - The YouTube video window should then appear in your post when you submit it. It might be an idea to preview the post first, just to check that the embedding has worked properly.

Re: How to embed a YouTube video in your post
Hi Leo -- thansk for explaining this.
I'm not famliar with "flash tags" -- what do the two numbers in [flash=480,385] betoken? Is it the dimensions at which the video will be displayed?

You need to put the dimensions in for the embedding to work: for some reason PhPBB won't just take the actual dimensions of the embedded video stream as a default. I just lifted the dimensions from the YouTube embed code.
