Milestone often assigns an intern a specific film project over the course of their stay. Interns have written complete press kits , worked on marketing (approving trailers, posters, etc.), produced DVD bonus features and commentary tracks, interviewed filmmakers and documentary subjects, designed websites, scanned original production papers, et cetera.
INTERN DETAILS
Pay: $7.25/hour. If this is for a course, we can also provide a reference letter to obtain credit.
Hours: Minimum of 8 hours/week and up to 40, according to intern’s schedule, but between the hours of 10:00 to 6:00, M-F.
Tasks: Various, depending on what the priorities of the day are, but may include –
Writing, researching, proofreading and/or contributing to press kits
Writing, researching, proofreading and/or contributing to DVD boxes and posters
Participating in the marketing and promotion of current releases
Watching possible acquisition preview cassettes of foreign and classic films
Shipping out screeners, catalogues, promotional requests and press mailings
Answering the phones and taking video orders or providing information
Opening and sorting mail
General cleanliness of office – tidying and organization
Assisting shipping, press paste-ups & publicity gathering/filing
Assisting in ordering acquisition tapes/materials coming/going out
Assisting in xeroxing, mailing and filing quarterly producer reports
Assisting in mailing out invoices, past dues and in-house DVD orders
