AMIA supports a number of public and professional programs to promote education and foster cooperation and communication among the individuals and organizations concerned with the acquisition, preservation, description, exhibition, and use of moving image materials.   

AMIA Fiscal Sponsorship Program
AMIA's Fiscal Sponsorship Program offers members a mechanism that allows AMIA to serve as a conduit for financial resources, and provides some support and oversight for project grants.  Our fiscal sponsorship services make it possible for individuals and unincorporated groups to create grantmaking programs or receive U.S. tax-deductible donations.

AMIA/San Francisco Silent Film Festival Travel Grant
The San Francisco Silent Film Festival Travel Grant was established to help develop new media archivists, the caretakers of our film heritage.  The Grant provides travel funding for the AMIA Annual Conference.  Each grant recipient will be reimbursed for reasonable travel and registration expenses up to $1,000 and will receive a complimentary conference registration as well as registration to The Reel Thing Technical Symposium at the Conference.   The grant is intended for those entering the field, new professionals and students, all AMIA members are eligible.  Applicants complete a short application form and include a brief essay (no more than 1000 words) addressing the financial need for the award, as well as how attendance at the conference will contribute to their professional development as a media archivist. 

AMIA Community Fund Travel Grant
The AMIA Community Fund was established to pay tribute to the work of AMIA members, and offer colleagues, friends and families a way to honor contributions to the moving image field. The Fund provides travel funding for the AMIA Annual Conference.  Each grant recipient will be reimbursed for reasonable travel and registration expenses up to $1,000. Applicants will complete a short application form and include a brief essay (no more than 1000 words) addressing the financial need for the award, as well as how attendance at the conference will contribute to their professional development. All AMIA members are eligible. 


The Carolyn Hauer International Fund
The Carolyn Hauer International Fund is a fund dedicated to promoting internationalism within the Association of Moving Image Archivists.


The James A. Lindner Prize
The purpose of this award will be to recognize, encourage and financially assist researchers of merit who offer the greatest potential to further the technology needs of moving image archivists and AV preservation. The next James A. Lindner Prize will be awarded by SEAPAVAA in 2013.
